Kikue Yamada
Kikue Yamada was born in Japan and began learning piano at age of 6. While attending Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, she also started study of the Electone (electric organ) with the Yamaha Company, and qualified as an instructor of Yamaha Electone school. She taught at Yamaha School in Tokyo for seven years.
She moved to Cork, Ireland, in 1987 with her family and enrolled in a two-year Piano Diploma course at the Cork Municipal School of Music. After graduation in 1990, she took a position at CSM as an instructor for the piano junior course.
She relocated to Knoxville, TN in 1997 and taught at Smoky Mountain Music School in Maryville until 2007. In 2009, she studied the Suzuki Method with Fay Adams, Associate Professor of Piano,UTK. Currently, Kikue Yamada is a teacher of Suzuki Piano School of Knoxville and she owns " Yamada Studio".
Her students participate regularly in National Federation of Music Clubs, National Guild Auditions, Knoxville Music Teachers Association Auditions, and the Blount County Keyboard Teachers Competition. Multiple students from her studio have received awards at the state level at the Tennessee Music Teachers Association Competition and Tennessee Federation of Music Clubs State Competition.
